Short Version
LittleLion is a local-first pet care app. Your pet profile, journal notes, photos, documents, measurements, care history and reminders are stored in the app's private storage on your device by default. The current app does not require an account and does not upload your pet records to a LittleLion server.
Optional Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics are off by default and only run if you enable them in the app. Cloud sync and AI features are not part of the current public data flow; if they are added later, this policy and the in-app consent flow must be updated first.
1. Who We Are
This policy applies to the mobile app branded as LittleLion, initially listed on Google Play as Shih Tzu Care Journal. The app is operated by Grainwise Studio with Animal Smartland as the related content and support brand.

This app policy is separate from the general Animal Smartland website privacy policy, which covers website browsing, cookies, embedded videos and website analytics.
2. Data Stored Locally in the App
The app is designed to work without an account. Depending on what you choose to enter, the app may store the following data locally on your device:
- Pet profile details such as name, breed, birth date, sex, photo, microchip ID, insurance details and notes
- Journal entries, captions, moods, photos and photo metadata used by the app
- Weight, body condition score and other measurements you enter
- Care tasks, care history, calendar events, reminders and reminder templates
- Documents such as vaccination cards, receipts, vet notes, lab results or medication instructions
- Vet visit notes, Vet Visit Briefing content, emergency card details and generated local artifacts
- App settings, privacy choices, accepted policy versions and cached purchase entitlement state
This local pet data stays on your device unless you explicitly export, share or send it through another app or future opt-in feature.
3. Data That May Leave Your Device
a) Manual backups and sharing
If you choose to export a backup, LittleLion creates an unencrypted ZIP file containing your active records and original photos and saves it only to the location you select. You are responsible for keeping exported files private. If you share a PDF, photo, emergency card or other artifact, the receiving app or person handles that copy under their own rules.
Android Auto Backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for app-private data, so your pet records are not included in Android's automatic cloud backup by design.
b) Optional Firebase Analytics
Firebase Analytics is off by default. If you enable it, the app may send aggregate usage events such as app opens, feature use, onboarding progress, backup events, paywall events, purchase flow events, app version, device model, operating system and approximate geography. Analytics must not include pet names, free-text notes, photos, document contents, local file paths or medical details.
Target retention for app analytics data: 2 months.
c) Optional Firebase Crashlytics
Firebase Crashlytics is off by default. If you enable it, the app may send crash diagnostics such as stack traces, app version, operating system, device model and non-sensitive breadcrumbs needed to debug crashes. Crash reports must not include journal content, pet names, photos, documents or health notes by design.
Target retention for crash diagnostics: 90 days.
d) Google Play Billing
If you buy or restore Pro access on Android, the purchase flow is handled by Google Play. LittleLion receives purchase status needed to unlock app features, but we do not receive your full payment card details. Google processes store and payment data under Google's own policies.
e) Support email
If you contact us by email, we receive the email address, message content and any files or screenshots you choose to send. Please do not send sensitive pet or personal details unless they are necessary for the support request.
f) Website and YouTube links
If you open the Animal Smartland website or YouTube channel from the app, those services may process data under their own privacy policies. Our website policy is available at /privacy/. YouTube is operated by Google.
4. What We Do Not Do in the Current App
- We do not require a user account.
- We do not sell pet data.
- We do not show advertising in the current app.
- We do not use the Android Advertising ID.
- We do not upload pet photos, notes or documents to a LittleLion cloud server by default.
- We do not provide veterinary diagnosis, symptom checking, emergency triage or medical advice.
5. App Permissions

6. Legal Bases for Processing
For users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom or other regions with similar privacy laws, our legal bases may include:
- Performance of a contract - to provide the app features you choose to use, including local records, reminders, exports and purchase restoration.
- Consent - for optional Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics where you enable them.
- Legitimate interests - for security, fraud prevention, support and maintaining the app, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation - where we must keep records or respond to lawful requests.
7. Service Providers and Transfers
We may use Google services such as Google Play Billing, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Installations and Firebase Hosting. Google LLC may process data in the United States and other countries using applicable transfer safeguards, including the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses where relevant.

8. Retention and Deletion
- Local app data: kept on your device until you delete it, delete the pet profile, clear app data or uninstall the app.
- Exported backups and shared files: stored wherever you saved or sent them. You must delete those copies yourself.
- Analytics: target retention is 2 months if enabled.
- Crash reports: target retention is 90 days if enabled.
- Support email: kept as long as needed to answer the request, keep support history and meet legal obligations.
You can access, edit, export or delete local records inside the app. Because most pet data is local-first, we usually do not have a server copy to delete unless you sent it to us or enabled a future opt-in service.

9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent. Optional Analytics and Crashlytics can be changed in the app's Privacy choices.
To make a privacy request, contact us at animalsmartland@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, including the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO) in Poland if applicable.
10. Children
LittleLion is intended for adult pet owners and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
11. Future Cloud or AI Features
Future optional cloud backup, caregiver sharing, AI transcription, AI photo observations, OCR or conversational features may require data to leave the device. Those features are not covered as active data flows until they are shipped. Before enabling them, we will update this policy and add clear in-app consent or controls.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be shown in the app through a renewed privacy notice or consent prompt.
